2024 Racing Rules of Sailing Chalk Talk Series

Details
Following the success of the Racing Rules of Sailing (RRS) chalk talk series in 2023, the Permanent Race Committee (PRC) in collaboration with Sail Training Committee (STC) is hosting the series again in 2024, concurrent with the Frostbite Series. Five sessions are planned running weekly from 27 January to 24 February covering the following topics:
27 January - Session 1 Introduction to the Racing Rules of Sailing
03 February - Session 2 The Start
10 February - Session 3 The Windward Leg
17 February - Session 4 At the Marks
24 February - Session 5 The Downwind Leg
Organized on an "inverted classroom" basis the clinic will provide the following:

Advanced assignment / review of assigned training videos, supported by
- Facilitated Chalk Talks - maximum of 90 minute session lead by a RRS Subject Matter Expert
- Review of highlights / important points within scenario under discussion (noting differences between video content & 2021 - 2024 RRS, if any)
- Sailing scenarios in discussion format
- Open Q&A
All sessions will be held in the AYC Clubhouse on the above Saturdays, 10:00 - 11:30am.
Upon completion of registration additional details will be provided, to include advanced video assignments and link to the 2021 - 2024 Racing Rules of Sailing.
